Amiga Guardian 1.0 is a free utility for Commodore Amiga that creates snapshots of files, drawers or entire disks and restores their previous state if a problem occurs.
Compatible with AmigaOS 2.04 and later, it runs on Amigas with a 68000 or later processor, as well as emulators.
Amiga Guardian 1.0 is a free snapshot and restoration utility designed specifically for Commodore Amiga computers.

Compatible with original Amigas and emulators, this software helps protect changes made to your computing environment.
Similar in principle to Windows System Restore or Time Machine on Mac, Guardian lets you return files, drawers (folders) or disks to their previous state after a change.
Ideal for testing software, changing your Workbench configuration or experimenting without fear of losing your software environment.

File and system restoration
Safe, logged restoration
Snapshot protection
Rescue disk
Guardian can create a boot disk containing the software and its settings.
It allows you to restore a hard drive from an external environment when the system no longer boots.
A blank, previously formatted floppy disk is required. Guardian does not format floppy disks.
Graphical interface and command line
The software has been tested from Workbench 2.04 to Workbench 3.2.3, on FFS and PFS3 file systems, with more than 450 checks.
Amiga Guardian primarily protects against software errors, accidental changes and problematic installations.
Because the copies are stored on your hardware, it does not protect against physical hard drive failure.
You should therefore also make backups on separate media.
Guardian was designed around one essential principle: never make an existing situation worse.
It prioritises checking operations, making changes transparent and ensuring restoration safety.
